ShiftVision combines a 3D-printable shifter knob with a round ESP32-S3 display, bringing live racing information directly to your gear lever.

The concept features a large gear indicator in the centre of the screen and an RPM ring around the edge. A rounded body provides the grip, while a raised rim helps protect the display glass.

Designed for the TH8S

The enclosure is designed around the official Thrustmaster TH8S adapter. The display and electronics sit inside the knob, with a USB cable exiting underneath. Cable strain relief and sufficient slack are important to allow unrestricted movement through the full shift pattern.

Live data from your racing simulator

The planned PC setup uses SimHub to send game telemetry over USB serial to custom ESP32 firmware. Reading the gear from the game allows the display to show the vehicle’s actual gear, rather than only the physical position of the shifter.

The electronic version requires:

  • A Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.46-inch round touchscreen board.

  • A suitable USB data cable.

  • Custom display firmware.

  • SimHub configuration and a game with compatible telemetry.
