Stack Mac minis (Intel/M1) on top of a Mac Studio, or on top of each other, without blocking the air intake/ports and without anything sliding around.

How it works

- A 4 mm lower lip drops over the top edge of the machine below. A 5 mm upper lip holds the base of the machine above. Neither machine can slide in any direction.

- The upper machine rests on four corner seats. Its foot hangs in a 14 mm air gap, leaving 8 mm under the foot for air to reach the bottom intake.

- The rear stays clear of the exhaust vents and ports: the lip at the back is only 4 mm deep.

- The corners follow Apple's continuous-curvature (squircle) corner shape, not a simple radius, so the lips fit snugly all the way round.

Compatibility (Tested)

- Mac mini 2014, 2018 and M1 (2020): 197 × 197 mm unibody.

- Mac Studio M2 (bottom of the stack only).

- Not for the 2024 and later small Mac mini (M2, etc).

Put the Mac Studio at the bottom: it's the heaviest, and its intake should sit on the desk. You need one spacer per mini.

Two versions

  • spacer-open.stl: Open between the corners: best airflow, lightest

  • spacer-lattice.stl: 45° lattice side walls: stiffer, more finished look
