The problem

The Pivot Stand for the insta360 go2 is one of the best mounts, but mine broke around the screw where the plastic is really thin.

A new pivot stand is cheap, but since the release of the insta360 go3, this one has become impossible to find, so repairing it was my only option

The broken piece has the magnets needed to mount the camera, so this print is a shroud around it which allows you to mount the piece back to the rest of the stand with the original screw

Required materials

  • 3d printed part
  • sandpaper
  • hobby knive to speed thinngs up (optional)

Print settings

General settings: print with 0.2mm layers and 100% infill - it will print as all walls

Supports:

The holes for the mount + screw intersect, so a bit of one layer will be printed mid air.

I have printed this without supports and it still woked because the bridging area is quite small

If you enable supports, the hole goes all the way through so you will be able to push the supports out the other side at the end. However

Installation

You will need to sand the broken piece down so it is fully round. I used a hobby knife to cut off the big parts (be prepared to throw away the blade after this)

Once the broken piece is sanded smooth, it should friction fit inside the printed shroud which then attaches back onto the base with the original screw.
