Assembly Instructions

If the remote switch isn't working properly, see the section titled “It's not working”

Printing tips

-  PLA / (PETG)

I printed all the parts in PLA, and the mechanism works perfectly, but you can print it in PETG for added strength.

But, the integrated supports don't hold up well with PETG.

You'll need to add your own supports using the parts from the “Individual Parts WITHOUT support” file.

If you have both, I recommend using PLA.

-  NO support (only with PLA)

You don't need to add supports to the parts, because I've already built supports into the models !!

But if you want to add your own supports (to use PETG), take the parts from the “Individual Parts WHITHOUT support” file.

-  3 perimeters to make the parts strong

-  15 % infill

-  Colors : Check out the “Colors” section

-  (OPTIONAL, depending on your bed’s grip :)

A border for long pieces (3 mm) to prevent them from warping (“Crossbar”)

But do not exceed 3 mm for the “Crossbar,” otherwise the part will not fit on the bed.

Files

There are 2 files that group together parts of the same color

"Stationary parts" (Black) :

  • "Remote switch Cover" (Black)

  • "Original switch Cover"

  • "Lever arm Support"

"Moving parts" (Orange) :

  • "Remote Button" (Orange)

  • "Remote switch Bar" (Orange)

  • "Original switch Bar"

  • "Original switch Lever"

  • "Lever arm"

  • "Crossbar"

And 1 folder that contains each piece separately WHITHOUT support.

Equipment

All you need is:

  • a black BIC pen to color a section black

  • a T10 Torx key (included with the printer)

  • a few centimeters of filament

  • a pair of pliers to cut it

It's not working

Before proceeding, if you have printed parts with a brim, make sure you have removed them completely.

Amplitude too short

1) If you notice that the “Remote Button” does not have enough travel to turn the printer On/Off, replace it with the extended version, which allows for greater travel : "Extended Remote Button"

2) If you find that the “Remote Button” does not have enough travel BUT it still doesn’t work, print out the old version of the lever arm : "Lever arm (old)"

⟹ You'll find these files a the end of the “Individual Parts WHITHOUT support” folder.

Screw too short

On some versions, the screw for the screen cover is too short. You can replace it with a longer M3 screw ( > 8 mm)

The “Original Switch Cover” moves

If the “Original Switch Cover” isn't held in place by the cable head and the part moves around, this remix by @ycarry should solve the problem.

If after all that, it still doesn't work, send me a comment explaining your problem, and we'll find a solution.

Colors

I recommend using Black for the stationary parts and Prusa Orange for the moving parts.

But of course, you can change the colors of the pieces.

For example you can print everything in black except for "Switch button" and "Remote switch bar" parts, which are orange.

But the parts with their color listed in parentheses (e.g. : “Orange”) are very visible (on the front). So keep this in mind if you want to change their colors.

Updates

-  24/09/2026 : Created a new version, called “Lever arm (NEW)”, to improve movement (Thanks to @bwater for this suggestion)

-  08/07/2026 : Adding a groove to the “Remote Switch Cover” to improve the fit of the parts (Thanks to @hachleitner for this suggestion)

-  30/06/2026 : Creation of a longer remote button "Extended Remote Button", to increase the range of motion (Thanks to @dmitsuki for this suggestion)

-  26/06/2026 : Modification of the “Lever arm support” for a more secure fit

Happy printing !!
