Multitool - super light, universal.

Despite its small size and light weight, the tool unscrews very large screws. The robust construction resists twisting and breaking. This isn't a small screwdriver for 4 mm or 1/8" bits. These weren't laboratory tests, but my experience has shown this.

Properties:

  • Dimensions main body are 10x10 mm, 70 mm long.

  • Maximum reduction for 1/4" hex bit; 6,35 mm.

  • Magnetic bit holder frontal and 90 degrees, for 1/4" hex bits.

  • Magnetic magazine for two bits.

  • Magnetic holder for No. 11 scalpel with cover.

  • T-shank saw holder with latch.

Versions:

SD - Screwdriver        KN - Knife (Scalpel)       JS - Jigsaw blade
  • SD                 - screwdriver with a magazine for two bits

  • SD+KN         - additional scalpel holder, scalpel protection cap

  • SD+KN+JS   - additional T-Shank jigsaw holder, blade locking latch

Version 2 - v2 - Added rib and groove as a stable connection.

Parts:

  • Filament PETG, ASA, ABS ace possibly PLA

  • Standard Hex bits 1/4" (6.35 mm)

  • 5x2 mm neodymium magnets. 3-6 pcs. Holes are 5.1 mm in diameter

  • Craft knife blade No. 11 - X-Acto blades No 11 or otherHobby Scalpel blades no. 11. Substitutes: Excel Blades, Olfa etc. https://www.xacto.com/knives-blades.html

  • No. 11 surgical scalpel blade - Swann-Morton, B. Braun Aesculap, Feather Safety Razor Aspen Surgical etc. https://www.swann-morton.com/

  • Jigsaw blade used in jigsaws with a T-Shank attachment

  • Jisaws blade come in various thicknesses. The maximum thickness is 1.6 mm. Thinner ones will be slightly loose in the handle.

Additional improvements:

  • lanyard hole

  • optional lanyard attachment on the T-Shank. Ver. 1.3 or 1.4 mm thickness

  • optional belt clip

  • additional lock to prevent bits from falling out

  • the scalpel is kept in a sheath to avoid injury; It should click into the cover

  • sliding latch with magnets; o place a magnet on a metal object

Printing and assembly:

  • I recommend a 0.12mm layer

  • The filling density is 30-50% enough

  • Print the base part horizontally

  • Printing the base part of the JS version lying flat, but with supports

  • Scalpel handle, scalpel cover, jigsaw latch - it's worth printing standing up; it's worth using brim

  • Neodymium magnets should be pressed in, or additionally glued if necessary (Super Glue or B-7000 or your choice)

  • The scalpel is difficult to insert, must be inserted through a constriction. Press in with pliers.

  • T-Shank lanyard attachment. Choose 1.3 or 1.4 mm.

  • You can choose between a standard, magnetic or pocket clip.

Weights:

  • Main body with 3 magnets           5.00 gr

  • Handle + No. 11 scalpel + Cover   3.80 gr

  • Jigsaw blade                                    1.30 gr

  • 2 x 1.4" bits                                      8.50 gr

  • TOTAL                               aprox.  19,00 gr

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

I'll try to make changes or improve the design if anyone requests it.

If you have trouble fitting parts, let me know in the comments. I'll make a version that better matches the filament or print. You can always add or subtract a few percent in the print dimensions.

I used the screwdriver idea from Chesus. This version is 12x12 mm and 80 mm long.

I completely redesigned it, reduced its size, added new features, and eliminated the need to interrupt printing to place the magnets.
