his design lets you build a full-size coat hanger using cheap, easy-to-find round wood from a hardware store. The printed parts act as the joints, feet, and branching connectors, turning ordinary wooden rods into a functional standing coat rack.

The structure has a natural, tree-like shape with several arms for coats, hoodies, hats, bags, scarves, and everyday objects. The white 3D-printed connectors give it a sculptural look, while the wooden dowels keep the object light, affordable, and strong.

The design is easy to assemble and does not require complicated woodworking. Cut the dowels to your preferred length, slide them into the printed connectors, and secure them with screws where needed.

Features

  • Freestanding coat rack / coat hanger

  • Uses standard round wooden dowels

  • Cheap and easy to build

  • Strong 3D-printed connector system

  • Organic sculptural design

  • Good for coats, hoodies, hats, bags, and scarves

  • Adjustable final size depending on dowel length

  • Easy to repair or modify

  • Minimal material use compared to printing a full coat rack

What you need

  • Printed connector parts

  • Round wooden dowels

  • Screws

  • Optional: glue for extra strength

  • Optional: sandpaper for the wooden ends

Notes

The final strength depends on your print settings, the quality of the wood, the screw placement, and how tightly the dowels fit into the connectors. For heavier coats, use strong material, enough walls, and solid dowels.

This is a functional print, but also a sculptural object for the entrance, studio, bedroom, or hallway.
