This device mounts over the top of the door handle on the Bambu X1. When deployed the hinge folds back allowing for the catch to grab the side of the case creating a consistent and repeatable air gap for printing lower temp filaments. This design also avoids putting pressure on the door gasket and will not cause any impressions with long term use.

When not in use flatten the device and hang on the door handle for a convenient and out of the way storage solution.

To assemble print both halves of the device at 0.2 layer Hight with a 0.4mm nozzle. Then insert a piece of 1.75mm filament (Scraps work perfect for this) through the hinge leaving about 1-2mm extra length on the top and bottom of the hinge. Then using a flame, or a soldering iron heat the end of the exposed filament just enough to soften and lightly press against a ridged surface creating a flat rivet like surface on each side.
