I designed and built this simple door for my Ultimaker 2+ to help with printing materials that are sensitive to cool air, cold temperatures, or drafts.
The best part of this design is that you don’t need to cut, saw, or drill anything on your machine for it to work. Even better, the door can be stored neatly on the side of the printer when not in use (see photo).
The only items you’ll need to purchase are 8 M5x10 bolts, an M5 tap (if you don’t already have one), and of course the Perspex door itself.
A .DXF file for the door is included in the download.
The door should be made from 5 mm thick material.
