GSWEEP - Multipurpose Microfiber Cleaning Tool

Inspiration

Most glass mousepads do not respond well to alcohol-based cleaning, as coatings or surface treatments can become damaged or lose smoothness. Many common cleaning cloths or wipes are also pre-treated with chemicals, which makes accidental contamination easy and can unintentionally risk permanent damage to the pad.

glassSWEEP XL was created to avoid this entirely by using a clean microfiber cloth with no chemicals. The design allows the cloth to be used dry during gaming sessions for quick dust removal, and then lightly dampened with water after use for a deeper clean. Only water is used, and the cloth can fully dry overnight and be ready again the next day.

The idea also comes from practical gaming use with sleeves, which tend to collect dust, hair, and pet fur. This debris often transfers to the mousepad during gameplay, where it becomes noticeable and distracting. glassSWEEP XL keeps a clean microfiber cloth always ready, making it easy to maintain a clean surface without introducing unwanted contaminants.

Monitor Cleaning

glassSWEEP XL can also be used for cleaning flat-screen monitors. A clean microfiber cloth is ideal for removing dust, fingerprints, and light smudges from flat display surfaces without the need for chemical cleaners. For best results, use only a small amount of water when deeper cleaning is needed.

USE THIS TOOL FOR ONE PURPOSE ONLY. DO NOT USE THE SAME CLOTH FOR BOTH YOUR MONITOR AND YOUR MOUSEPAD. USING IT ON MULTIPLE SURFACES CAN TRANSFER DIRT, OILS, OR OTHER CONTAMINANTS FROM ONE SURFACE TO ANOTHER, WHICH CAN NEGATIVELY AFFECT CLEANING PERFORMANCE AND MAY DAMAGE SENSITIVE SURFACES e.g. GLASS MOUSEPADS.

The use of glassSWEEP XL on curved ultrawide monitors or standard curved monitors is not recommended, as uneven pressure distribution and contact with curved surfaces may increase the risk of scratches or unwanted pressure marks.

Assembly Instructions

Materials

  • 3× M3 screws, 20 mm length (18 mm thread length)

  • 1× microfiber cloth (full size, no cutting required)

Assembly

1. Prepare the cloth

Use the microfiber cloth without cutting it.

2. Fold the long edges

Fold each of the two long edges inward in half. After both folds, the cloth becomes narrower while keeping its full length.

3. Place the base

Lay the folded microfiber cloth on your work surface and place the base on top of it, centered on the cloth.

4. Install the cover

Fold the remaining microfiber over the base, leaving enough clearance around the screw holes. Place the cover on top and install the center screw, tightening it only halfway so the cloth is held in place.

Pull the cloth taut, then fully tighten the center screw.

5. Tuck in the short ends

Using tweezers, push the excess microfiber from the short ends into the openings between the cover and the base. Keep the cloth under constant tension while doing this.

6. Work toward the sides

Starting from the center, continue tucking the excess cloth into the openings while keeping it taut.

As each side is properly tensioned and all excess cloth is hidden inside the base and cover, install and tighten the corresponding side screw. Repeat for the opposite side.

7. Final tightening

Once everything is properly tensioned and all excess cloth is tucked inside, tighten all three screws fully.

Tips

  • No cutting is required.

  • Keep the microfiber cloth under tension throughout the entire installation for the smoothest cleaning surface.

  • Use tweezers to tuck the excess cloth neatly into the openings between the cover and the base.

  • All excess cloth should remain hidden inside the assembly.

  • Depending on the version (Medium, Large, or XL), fitting the excess microfiber into the openings between the cover and the base may require a bit more force or patience due to the increased amount of material.

Printing Instructions

Print with 3/4 walls and 10/15% honeycomb infill to ensure sufficient vertical strength so the model can withstand pressure during use.

For experienced 3D printing users, feel free to adjust wall count, infill type, and density based on your own preferences and printer setup.
