I took the single 1x1 from the original posting and made a hexagonal patch of fabric with them. I also tried to maximize the distance from the links to make it easier to print. There is a length 4 and length 6 version provided.
It is easy to design a 3d printed chainmail. It is hard to do it the right way so it is flexible, but does not tangle and is still printable. Printed in PLA. Slowed the printer down a bit.
