This Brio-compatible, low-grade riser/inclined/sloped support set provides a more realistic way to change elevation for toy trains, compared to the conventional accessories which have an excessively steep angle.  At 3.2 degrees, this easy-to-print support set will ensure that special person in your life stops becoming frustrated with toy trains separating on roller-coaster-like elevation changes…

FREE FOR THE KIDS:

The version posted here is free, but includes a company marking inscribed in the pieces.  If you are willing and able, please support my efforts by purchasing the paid version below, which has the company marking removed from the pieces:

UPDATE: 2/8/2025 - Now includes inverse/reverse version (PR3DBRILGC00).

FEATURES:

  • Low-grade (3.2 degrees) to prevent separation of magnet-based train cars.
  • Integrated track on each support.
  • Efficient, no-support design for ease of printing and reduced filament use.  Prototype PR3DBRILGA00 was printed using about 270g of filament (using the below settings).
  • 5 printable pieces (see sheet 1 of the drawing).
  • Stable, sturdy, child-proof design based on common real-world railway support architecture.
  • Drawing showing detailed track profile, if you are a designer looking to create a version of your own.

TRAINS NOT INCLUDED

This design pairs nicely with the low-grade helix (shown in pics) by Fittan, which is linked below:

VERSION: 0

PN: PR3DBRILGA00 & PR3DBRILGC00

RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS:

A variety of settings may be used to appropriately print.  I used the below settings, mostly to save on filament while maintaining sufficient strength:

  • 2 line wall count
  • 2 layers for top and bottom surfaces
  • 15% infill
  • Grid type infill

The prototype was printed using the Ender 3 S1 Plus.
