Magic Christmas Tree Lantern - Led Tealight diffuser - Gift Inspiration

This decorative lamp is perfect for tables windowsills and shelves or as part of a holiday centerpiece. It consists of two circular crowns supporting eighteen identical fins that form the tree shape.

It can host a small LED tealight in its center. For obvious reasons, avoid using a real candle with an open flame. 

Here is how the assembly works:

Each fin slides vertically into the upper and lower crowns. Once inserted the fins naturally lock the crowns in position and the structure becomes increasingly stable as more fins are added. When all eighteen fins are in place the lamp forms a rigid and elegant tree shape.

PRINTING RECOMMENDATION & TOLERANCES:

Since every printer performs differently, I have included several versions of the crowns with different internal tolerances (the lower the value, the tighter it will fit and vice versa). This also helps if you wish to scale the design. For mine, I used the 0.15mm version. The fins could still slide into position while remaining snug enough to stay firmly held. As more fins are added the stability of the entire lamp improves and the final result feels solid and well balanced.
